Because You Don’t Want To Get Old (Making Time)

One Moment Please, 2002
Wood, muslin, paper, paint, hair, glue
49 panels, 9 x 9 x .75 inches each
For a period in 2001-2002 I set up a table in the studio with paper, hair and glue. Whenever I had a free moment during the day I would "draw" these infinity signs, until I was called away to do whatever activity was necessary to fill my responsibilities as a mother of two. The moment might have lasted five minutes or twenty, depending on how busy our day was.

I used the infinity symbol because no matter how long a moment is on the clock it is still fluid in our experience. It may feel like a second or forever.
